Matthew 14: 23-36 , Matthew recounts how the Savior told his disciples to enter into a boat while he dealt with the multitudes. The winds were boisterous and the disciples were tossed into the middle of the sea for four nights. On the fourth night, they see a man walking on the water and at first think it is a ghost but soon realize it is the Savior. He bids Peter to come to him and Peter obeys but is soon daunted by the task of walking on water. Davin has recently discovered a new interpretation of this verse that explains why Peter is so afraid: 30. Our boys have yet to experiment with cursing. Whether it is because they don't get exposed to it that often and their vocabulary is limited (we seem to keep our salty sailor banter in check) or because it is yet to manifest itself, we shall see. Even with limited vocabulary, there arises certain instances with a "gosh darn it" just won't do and Rowan has effectively introduced "autch" (as in "watch" without the "w") into all things frustrating and unexpected. "Autch" is versatile, covering instances in which one spills a cup of milk or when one struggles to buckle one's seat belt. It rolls delicately off the tongue in a manner equally elegant and savage, almost echoing from ancient curses muttered eons ago. Originating in Rowan's vocabulary, it seems to be tipping as Davin has started saying it as well. Let's hope that Rowan doesn't have a future in crafting curse words, though. Although it worked for Ralphie...

Davin's Indiana Jones phase hit full stride just in time for Halloween. I found a brown jacket that could double as costume and school jacket, he couldn't have been more thrilled. Every day after school, Davin walks in the door and heads to his room; with his jacket already on, he puts on his fedora, grabs his whip and satchel, and is ready for the afternoon's adventures. Rowan opted for Harry Potter this year and his costume proved to be a good investment as well; we forgot his jacket on our trip to Atlanta but we happened to have his costume. He was more than happy to wear his Harry Potter cloak all weekend instead. I loved their costumes this year! They had a great time trick-or-treating and pillaged the neighborhood with much success. I found this cute loaf at Great Harvest. So fun!

We finished our adventure to Atlanta with a trip to their Legoland Discovery Center. The boys had an amazing time! They had a great time playing with Legos, riding the two rides, playing in the play center, and watching 4D movies. The place was virtually empty and it was so fun to play unimpeded. My favorite was the large Lego model of Atlanta. I loved visiting Atlanta! The city was amazing and we particularly enjoyed connecting with Chris's Aunt Laurie, Albert, and his wife Katie. They hosted us on Sunday for a delicious dinner and delightful company. It is so fun to know that we have family so close and we can't wait to visit again! The view from my seat After visiting the Georgia Aquarium, we headed to the football stadium with excited anticipation. We met Chris's Aunt Laurie and her son, Albert at the game and we were so excited to have them join us! The weather was beautiful and we had an awesome view of downtown Atlanta. Coming off a three game losing streak, we were really hopefully that BYU wouldn't make it four. Chris, Rowan, Davin, Albert, and Laurie Kristina and Tess Rowan started to get a little squirmy and was bribed with treats Fortunately our BYU boys didn't disappoint. They had a great game!!!
