Progress Energy wants Chris to work for them this summer and we have decided it sounds like a pretty good deal. Progress is located in Raleigh, NC, which is less than two hours east of where we are now. Now that the big question is answered, we are faced with a long list of sundry items that need to be taken care of, such as where we are going to live and what our favorite pizza place in Raleigh will be (because we are so into pizza, or as Davin fondly calls it, "za"). Although we won't be able to do much traveling this summer because Chris won't really have vacation time, feel free to visit us and check out the lovely NC sites. After our busy and fun Saturday, I'll admit that I didn't put in the preparation that I should have for a more spiritual Easter Sunday. However, I'm so grateful for our ward and the opportunity to attend church. The meetings helped me to refocus and to remember what we were celebrating. Although we missed spending time with family this Easter, we enjoyed having dinner with friends this evening and getting to know some of our ward family better. We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Davin woke up on Saturday morning to discover Cadbury Mini Eggs outside his door in a neat little path that led through the living room and to the hall closet. Our Easter Bunny was very clever to leave a trail of "bunny poops" to Davin's Easter basket. However, it took Davin a little while to pick up on the subtlety of the trail. Instead he went straight for the candy, shoving two in his mouth at a time. Eventually we helped him to pick up the candy and put it in the basket (a skill that would help him later in the day at the Primary Easter egg hunt). At last he found the hidden basket; in it he quickly lost interest in the candy (thank heavens!) and moved on to the little golf set and an automatic bubble blower. Unfortunately, with a tummy full of chocolate, he wasn't interested in breakfast. Later that morning we headed to the church for a brisk Easter egg hunt. After decorating foam eggs in the Primary room and singing songs in the gym, it was time for the main eve...

It was rather traumatic to have our Fumaca (aka Rees Easter Bunny) develop an ear infection a week before Easter but I am happy to report that he is on the path to a full recovery. He came through on Friday night and Davin was excited to discover his Easter basket on Saturday morning (see Easter post). He has to take antibiotics for the next two weeks still (which I think does not excite either Fu or me); however, we are happy that he is feeling better.

Winston-Salem, NC (AP)- The Easter Bunny spokesperson announced today that the famed Bunny has an inner ear infection. An ear infection for a rabbit can be devastating for his sense of direction as it disrupts the rabbit's ability to maintain balance. Thus the Easter Bunny will be unable to deliver the traditional baskets of candy, stuffed animals, and Nintendo Wii systems. The Bunny will be on antibiotics for three weeks and symptoms can linger beyond the treatment. Sara Jones, mother of three, stated: "I don't know what I will do if I don't get my chocolate bunny this year, I mean if the kids don't get their bunnies." Editor's Note : The Easter Bunny spokesperson later announced that Fumaca , the Rees family Easter Bunny, will be unable to deliver this year because of an ear infection. However, the Bunny will engage a replacement. Baskets will be delivered this year as normal.

Apparently it is open season for Canadian Geese at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro , NC. Either that or a couple of geese had a death wish last Friday. My friend Dodie, her two kids Ian and Alana, Davin, and I headed to the Zoo for a fun-filled day of animals, outdoors, and sack lunches. As we reached the zoo, two Canadian Geese flew out of nowhere heading straight for my car. My trusty breaks held true (much to my relief as I was not in the mood to have a detailed conversation about life and death with my friend's three-year-old). One goose started squawking at the other as if to say, "Did you see that? I almost got hit by a car!" Fortunately the poor bird flew off to enjoy the rest of its day, and we had a great time at the zoo (versus scraping feathers out the grill).

Davin had another brilliant art moment today: body art. Unfortunately this work will not be available for purchase and the exhibit was destroyed with soap and water. As he stated, "mwarker", which means that art is sometimes a transitory part of life to be experienced and captured with a photograph.
