One of the perks of having a Bank of America account is that the first full weekend of every month is "free museum weekend" and account holders can visit a select group of museums sans admission fee. We took advantage of this perk several times while living in Charlotte and this weekend we decided to do the same in San Francisco by vising the Legion of Honor, De Young, and SFMOMA. Visiting the museums in that order worked well from an academic sense in that we started with early collections of Greek and Roman art through Impressionism at the Legion; at the De Young we picked up early native American art through early modern American art (with some representation from other native peoples in other lands), and finished with the most modern at the SFMOMA. We started off our Halloween fun with a ward "Hoe-Down" where we debuted our Halloween wear (a kitty, mummy, ref, and Marty McFly and his girlfriend Jennifer) and hung out with our ward friends. They had an actual hoe-down dance with a caller-- Ellie and Chris had fun dancing together. Our Halloween adventures always seem to start with pumpkin carving. This year, of course, Ellie wanted to carve a kitty pumpkin. Rowan was inspired by Harry Potter for his pumpkin and then Davin worked on pumpkins for a mini golf game for his Halloween party.  Halloween is a big deal in our neighborhood and school. Rather than pretending like it isn't a thing (like they did in NC) instead they have a big parade at the elementary school with the high school band to serenade.
