Another celebration during our stay in Ohio was Davin's birthday, or pre-birthday party. As we were only a week away from the big day, we opted to celebrate by visiting Grater's and opening his gift from Grandma Stevenson in person, something we aren't often able to do. As a side note, Columbus is a sweet spot on the ice cream map. I adore Jeni's crazy creativity, but Grater's was a solid ice cream experience with it's own unique contributions. Chris introduced me to the pretzel cone, a cone literally made out of a crispy pretzel-like shell with a little salt on the rim. Yum!
My cousin, Kristi came up from Dayton with her darling girls in tow and we were happy to add to the cousin count. Liezl, Quincy, Ava, and Cora joined us for ice cream and other silliness and it was great to see them again. Of course the event culminated with Davin opening his gift from Grandma, the much coveted "Soccer Guys" to which Rowan responded by hiding in the shipping box with the hopes of being shipped elsewhere.
